Reflective and Non-Reflective Traffic Signs

It is vital that road signs are clear and informative and how well they are seen can dictate how drivers react. Brightness and clarity are essential as is the maintenance of existing signs so those that are no longer effective are made so or replaced.

Using only the best materials and manufacturing processes, we sell signs that are in accordance with Chapter 8 (Traffic  Safety Measures and Signs for Road Works and Temporary Situations) and the TSRGD (The Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions 2016) guidelines.

As well as ensuring that the correct signage is provided to inform on roads and highways where any member of the public can drive their car, from 1st July 2013 any permanent sign directing traffic as listed in the TSRGD Traffic Handbook must be CE marked. This means that areas such as service stations, supermarket car parks, airports, retail outlet and public car parks, railway station transit ways and car parks , will need have signage that is CE marked. This requirement only applies to signage purchased after 1st July 2013 and is not retrospective.

Using quality 3M materials, our RA1 signs are ideal for temporary roadworks and private roads. Using reflective material which meets the specifications of Class RA1 and Class R2 under BS EN 12899, our R2 reflective signs are supplied complete with CE marking. You can find our range of reflective traffic signs here.

Our range of Non-Reflective Site Traffic Signs are intended for internal site traffic management. Many can be used within sign frames making them hugely adaptable to your requirements. We can also provide channelling on the back of our aluminium signs so they can be post mounted if necessary. Please see our range of posts and fixings here.

What materials are used to make traffic signs?

Aluminium Composite

An aluminium composite material is made of two, thin, lightweight sheets of aluminium with a solid black polyethylene core. Lightweight but extremely rigid, it is ideal for outdoor use due to its excellent resistance to adverse weather – and zero scrap value.

Zintec

20/22 guage zintec is a steel sheet which has been electro-plated with zinc to protect the sign from corrosion.

A lightweight but lower cost material, zintec is not as durable as the aluminium or composite signs but is a popular option for temporay signage being used in road frames.

Aluminium

0.8mm aluminium with a gloss white powder coating. Suitable for both internal and external applications. Excellent weathering and UV resistance provides a long life product.
