Our range of emergency spill kit signs clearly identify the location of the spill kit in the workplace.
Those who work with aggressive fluids, chemicals, oil etc should have designated spill kit stations and appropriate signs to highlight them. Staff training of the guidelines to be followed is essential to help reduce the risk of accidents and injury. These emergency spill kit signs can be placed appropriately to guide staff to the kits.
Health and safety signs regulations
The Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) – Regulations 1996, requires employers to ensure that safety signs are provided (or are in place). The safety signs should be maintained in circumstances where there is a significant risk to health and safety that has not been removed or controlled by other methods.
The Regulations implement European Council Directive 92/58/EEC on minimum requirements for the provision of safety signs at work. The Directive standardises safety signs throughout member states of the European Union (EU) so that wherever a particular safety sign is seen it provides the same message. The intention is that workers moving from site to site, such as service engineers, will not be faced with different signs at different workplaces.
There are viewing distance guides available on our safety sign buying guide page. These assist in determining the appropriate size of safety signs under various light conditions.
