Warning & Prohibition Signs

Two closely related jobs sit in this section: warning people about a hazard, and telling them what is not allowed. Warning signs use the yellow triangle to flag risks such as electricity, forklift traffic, slippery surfaces, hot surfaces, flammable and explosive substances and asbestos. Prohibition signs use the red circle and diagonal bar for no entry, no unauthorised access, no smoking, do not operate and no naked flames. Both follow BS EN ISO 7010, so the symbols are understood without reading the text, and both support your duties under the Health and Safety (Safety Signs and Signals) Regulations 1996. A useful rule of thumb: warn at the point where someone could first encounter the hazard, and prohibit at the boundary they should not cross. Manufactured in the UK in rigid PVC, self-adhesive vinyl and photoluminescent materials, with weatherproof grades for gates, yards and perimeters. Browse the sub-categories below.
