Health and Safety Law poster

Companies have until 5th April this year to change from the old style of Health and Safety law poster they display in the workplace. The change came into force in 2009 and employers had 5 years to comply. That brings us to 2014 and the deadline is fast approaching.

The HSE state that:

“Employers have a legal duty under the Health and Safety Information for Employees Regulations (HSIER) to display the approved poster in a prominent position in each workplace or to provide each worker with a copy of the approved leaflet that outlines British health and safety law.”

The 2009 safety signs poster replaces the version which was published in April 1999. The 1999 versions of the approved poster and leaflet should no longer be displayed following the April deadline.

New HSE poster

Research conducted demonstrated that 1999 version of the health and safety signs law poster were unappealing visually and rarely read. They were redesigned to be more readable and engaging.

The 2009 poster and leaflet also reflect changes in the law to reduce the administrative cost to employers of having to provide additional written information on the poster or with the leaflet, and having to keep this information up to date.

We’re currently offering the new H&S Law poster at a reduced price of £9.99 till the end of April 2014.
